Amazing Value every day!

The team at Dealz are working hard to bring you amazing value products every day, some of which are sourced from local suppliers in the Republic of Ireland.

Every week, millions of savvy customers enjoy the fun and exciting shopping experience of Dealz in our store in the Republic of Ireland.

Our quality, variety and inflation busting style offer irresistible value on each visit, enabling customers to benefit from its famous ‘amazing value’ proposition.

Charity

The chosen charity of the year for Dealz is Make-A-Wish®. Make-A-Wish Ireland has one simple aim – to grant the wishes of children aged between 3 and 17 years living with a life-threatening medical condition in order to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Since its inception in 1992, Make-A-Wish has granted wishes for over 1,700 brave children in Ireland.

A wish granted is true magic for the child, providing respite from their normal routines of hospitals, doctors and treatment.  We believe a wish can have a lasting impact on a child’s life. A wish involves the whole family and can create moments of joy – and memories that last a life-time

Our History

Poundland announced its expansion into the Republic of Ireland in August 2011. Poundland had been planning a move into Europe and chose the Republic Of Ireland as the first country to benefit from its famous ‘amazing value’ proposition.

A simple concept

The Dealz retailing concept is simple. We offer a wide range of products, including many well-known brands, and local Irish brands for €1.50. In addition, there are a number of special promotions at key price points such as €1 and 2 for €1.50.

The first 2 stores were opened in Blanchardstown and Portlaoise in September 2011. The competitively priced, breadth and depth of range, top brands, as well as local Irish products have been extremely well received by customers.

Building a future

Six stores were opened in the Republic of Ireland by the end of March 2012, bringing over 200 new jobs to the Irish economy and a total of over €2m in capital investment. Dealz has expanded considerably with over 60 stores now open and we are still growing!

Experience, sound systems and customer focus

It is undoubtedly the efficiency of our management systems, a wealth of buying and selling experience and a flair for recognising the needs of the customer which places the company ahead of other retailers in the sector. It is those same characteristics that guarantee Dealz a major role in the future of modern retailing.

values

Our values are at the heart of our business, regardless of where you work. You will be expected to live and breathe the values every day.

We Put Customers First

Customers are our business; we always work hard to make them happy. When they and their families’ smile, we smile with them. So go on, give it a go... play your part in making their shopping experience the best in town!

Treat Every Euro As Your Own

We’re passionate about saving money! We keep costs low to create amazing value for our customers. We’re savvy investors and spend wisely, making sure that our money works hard and gives a great return- you know what they say, look after the euros and the euros look after themselves.

Keep It Simple

Our business operates at warp speed so we have to keep things simple. We’re always improving what we do and growing without complicating things; we don’t want anything getting in the way of us doing our job. If you can see a better way, then shout about it and make it happen.

Recognise and Celebrate Success

Big stuff certainly counts, we love hearing about record numbers and our new store openings. Tip top displays, great customer service or going that extra mile to support a colleague all deserve celebration. So, let’s say it loud and say it proud, well done!

Respect Each Other

R.E.S.P.E.C.T, find out what it means to me... Aretha sang about it and we live it. Respect is like a mirror if you give it, you get it, so always treat people as you want to be treated – communicate, share, lead, involve. We are pretty down to earth with open doors and no politics, it just gets in the way.

Individual Responsibility, Team Delivery

We all work hard to reach our individual goals but we are one big team- you have great colleagues around you to help and support. Individually we’re strong, as a collective we’re unbeatable, achieving the impossible every day. So remember, ask for help when you need it and pull together.

I love working for Poundland as it’s a down to earth organisation with good values and a great team of people that care about the business. Everyone gets a voice and you are given a good level of autonomy and encouragement to do your job. My team and I have made many changes to help us deliver a better output and our business has supported our ideas and expertise along the way.

I have worked here for just short of 4 years and have grown in my role giving me more breadth and responsibility. I have also had the opportunity to develop others in my team and have several colleagues that I have helped progress further within our business which is something I’m proud of.

Being a value led retailer it’s important to keep our costs to do business down and my team and I are challenged with delivering good quality work at good value prices. This can be a challenge on a large multi-site estate but one my team and I embrace. I think having fun and working together to common goals is important and something we encourage across our business.

I’d recommend Poundland as a good place to work if you are looking for a challenge and being part of a team that works hard and works together.
